Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure
Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure
Produced and brought to life the three-part docuseries Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure, directed by Jared McGilliard and executive produced by a team including Max Heckman, Chad Mumm, Mark W. Olsen, David Clawson, John Collin Jr., Kurt Tondorf, James Campbell, Dean King, and James Haygood. The series chronicles Forrest Fenn’s 2010 challenge, at age 80 he hid a chest of gold and jewels somewhere in the Rocky Mountains north of Santa Fe, offering only a cryptic 24-line poem as a roadmap. Over the next decade, a motley band of treasure hunters abandoned jobs, families, and in some tragic cases their lives, navigating whitewater rapids, sheer cliffs, and untamed wilderness in pursuit of a real prize that proved both perilous and profoundly human. Ultimately unearthed by medical student Jack Stuef, the discovery closed one chapter of this modern odyssey while preserving the lure of “where next?” for generations to come.
